Taking some time for yourself each day to relax and rejuvenate can make a big difference in your overall wellbeing. The parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) is responsible for our rest and digest response, which is crucial for restoring energy and promoting healing. When this part of the nervous system is activated, the body is able to release itself from the fight or flight response and relax and unwind from the day's pressures. Being in the parasympathetic nervous system, promotes digestion, better sleep and helps us deal with stressful situations among many other benefits.
