Thanks for taking the time to find out more about us.
My name is Claudia and my passions in life are my family, food, yoga and reading. I love reading fiction but I also love reading about yoga and meditation and finding what we have come to know as "life hacks". Breath work has become an area of particular interest as it feels like a technique we can so easily all add to our tool boxes. I also enjoy learning how to increase productivity and make the most of our days. Our minds and bodies are quite amazing and finding optimal ways of accessing some of this amazingness is often usually reserved to high performance athletes.
I am no athlete. I do love yoga though and have a real interest in learning about and absorbing more yoga in my life. To be precise, the 8 limbs of yoga as taught by Patanjali. I learnt about these while I completed my 350 hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Australian Yoga Academy in 2020 and furthered my study with a 50 hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Dr Karina Smith, an amazing and inspirational teacher and doctor of Chinese medicine.
Through my training and life experience, one thing has always stood out above others in my learnings. How we can impact our parasympathetic nervous system to have a positive influence on our life. Most of you have probably heard of the “flight or fight response” that is another way of referring to the sympathetic nervous system. Conversely, the “rest and digest response” is another way of referring to our parasympathetic nervous system.
The number one method for activating this rest and digest response is through the use of breath to relax. Of course, there are other ways and it is these I want to also explore further and share with you. My mission in creating this website is to create a place where you can find the resources and tips to hep your body spend more time in the “rest and digest” phase and less in “fight or flight”.
I hope you join me on this learning journey.
For now, I leave you with these beautiful words of the late Sarah Harry (1972-2021) from Body Positive Yoga;
May you be safe
May you be happy
May you live your life with ease
